The 1st of April is not just a day for jokes and pranking, but more importantly a day that DFES encourages householders to test, check and change their smoke alarm batteries.
Should a fire start in your house, only a working smoke alarm will provide the crucial early warning which is needed, not only to save your life and the lives of your loved ones, but to minimise smoke and property damage or loss.
To ensure your smoke alarms are working properly they should be tested regularly (monthly) and batteries changed annually, preferably with a good quality, long life battery.

If you have any other questions regarding the smoke alarms in your property, please get in touch with your property manager.
